PRESTIGIO FC
Prestigio was first established in early April 2008 by a group of football hooligans who have just ended their time and effort serving the nation. We decided to form up a football team as a mean of staying together through bonding. We started to test ourselves by organising friendly matches and started to recruit players. Unfortunately, some of our players had to leave the team due to work and family commitments. With 20 players currently, we have joined the D2D Sunday League for 5 seasons.
Having played in the league, we have tremendously improved and we have a good team spirit for glory. We will unite and fight, look to win every game, and always give our best on the field. So cheers to all players from Prestigio and other football lovers!

Prestigio 4-1 Holland Park FC
Scorers: Kecyk, (Own Goal), Yan, Rock
Assists: Veera
Prestigio ended their season in perfect manner after despatching newly crowned Div2 champions Holland Park with an emphatic scoreline. Starting the game with only 10 men, things were looking way different for Prestigio. Poor finishing in front of goal by HPFC denied them easily a two goal lead early in the first half. Some shouts of alertness from newly acquired goalkeeper Kumaran and desperate defending could be seen especially from Farhan as Prestigio fought to stay in the game.
Prestigio's tactic to pressure HPFC's players full pitch paid dividends when HPFC's defenders let the ball loose to set Kecyk clear one-on-one with the goalkeeper. it was a long moment as Kecyk waited for the right moment to slot the ball pass the goalkeeper to give a shock lead. Prestigio though failed to preserve their lead as they ran out of steam and conceded late in the first half after a mistake by Wak in clearing the ball gave HPFC an easy lob over Kumaran.
Reinforcements came in the second half and things went all the way for Prestigio. Superb quick plays from attacking players Yan, Rock, Veera and Hakim split the HPFC defence with much ease. After an own goal, Yan getting into the scoresheet yet again, and Rock proving a goalscoring machine himself, certainly provides Prestigio with a great next season to look forward too.
This is exactly why we demand commitment for every game as it can be shown clearly in games where we were committed the most, such as this game, the Renaissance game where we played with 9 men, and also the penalty cup defeat to Raven last season. in all of these games we've showed we are a team that can genuinely challenge anyone when we are committed with our players around for each other.

Scorers: Yan, Rusydi
Assists: Rusydi
Prestigio earned their first victory in their last 5 games to end their worst run in the league. the win reignites chances of promotion next season for Prestigio.
Despite going into this match clear favourites to win, Prestigio struggled to create chances, and when the chances are created, it was wasted. frustration grew as players took too long to deliver the ball into the box and also lacked composure in attacking.
Yan shrugged off his man beautifully and with a searing pace beats his man to score, after a nice delivery for Rusydi opened the opportunity for Yan to score.
Nervy moments came in the second half and Huat could have easily won the match on another day.
One change that improved the performance for Prestigio was when Sentosa was pushed up for attack and bringing down Hafiz to defence with Rusydi. The attack was more swift and a goal was in Prestigio's sights.
However, they still failed to score and Prestigio needed a brilliantly curled free-kick from way out by Rusydi on the 77th minute to win it. it was a goal that is one good candidate for goal of the season.
Despite the victory, Prestigio must be worried as they have seemed to have lost the killer instinct, and will definitely have to step up if they want to achieve their 2nd consecutive promotion.
Manager Kecyk has once again called for commitment to the team by making a move to dispatch players that are no longer interested with the team. In a final attempt to raise the commitment and also attendance standards for matches, Kecyk has sent out a final request for all to make their choice now.
Information was given by Kecyk and so far, at least 2 players have pulled out of the team. Abang Yus has been ever-present for Prestigio last season, but this season he has been totally anonymous due to some uninformed reasons, while Sadiq added some interesting dimension to Prestigio's game for the past seasons but has lately lost the interest with the team and decides to quit. we wish them all the best and we will like to thank them for all their efforts that they have put in for us.
Despite 17 players pledging loyalty to the team, please take note that we will still monitor their attendance for the rest of the season, and those that still do not turn up regularly will be axed from the team.
All of this is being done for the good of the team, and also for the fairness of other committed players. Below are the list of remaining players.
Current Players That Have Pledged Commitment:
GK - Jazli,
DEF - Zai, Wak, Sabri, Rusydi, Hafiz O., Handri,
MID - Sentosa, Alfa, Hakim, Hafiz A., Pradeep, Azhar,
ATT - Yan, Kecyk, Farhan

7/2/10 8th League Game
(Sengkang Sec)
New Eastroids 2-1 Prestigio
Starting Lineup: Giant, Rusydi, Zai, Sentosa, Alip, Veera, Alfa, Hakim, Jazli, Kecyk, Yan
Subs: Wak
Scorers: Yan
Assists: Alfa
The latest loss against New Eastroids has now made it 3 losses in a row for Prestigio who are increasingly struggling to perform and have enough players for matches. With injuries already increasing, Farhan the latest casualty, Prestigio had to make do with yet 11 players to start with.
One obvious reason why Prestigio lost was because of poor decision making in terms of passing, poor timing of runs, no rhythm to their play. It is increasingly worrying to see that players were so quiet on the pitch and once again had to witness a lifeless Prestigio that couldnt threaten and score, except for Rusydi's header from a corner.
One positive move was the only goal for Prestigio, where Alfa played a nice through ball to put Yan through for his 10th goal of the season in 8 matches.
A late scare saw Rusydi limping off after falling hard after a challenge.
The bright spark and obvious Man of the Match for Prestigio had to go down to Veera, for an outstanding performance at the centre on midfield. We saw a glimpse of him in his first game, and this time he was much more settled and robust in his play. he could be an oustanding player for Prestigio.
With still 2 games in hand and sitting at 4th, we can still challenge for promotion and hope for higher teams to slip up.
31/01/10 7th League game
(Ahmad Ibrahim Sec)
Holland Park IV 6-3 Prestigio
Starting Lineup: Jazli, Rusydi, Giant, Zul, Farhan, Hakim, Azhar, Alfa, Pradeep, Sentosa, Kecyk
Subs: Fazli
Scorers: Rusydi, Farhan, Fazli
Assists:
Prestigio came into their second consecutive match where they had to rely on emergency back-ups, due to the shortage of players again.
Though Prestigio started off quite well, with some nice quick plays down the right that set up some great scoring opportunities, they went a goal behind after the first 10 minutes.
But Prestigio earned a penalty after a handball and Rusydi easily converted the penalty kick despite the keeper's attempts to distract him. The crucial mistake of the match was obvious when there was a switch into the 3-5-2 formation when fazli was introduced, and Holland Park capitalised with superb cut ins from the wingers which resulted in a quick 4 goal haul till half-time, by which Prestigio were alredy gasping in search for answers.
a long team talk and reverting to the 4-4-2 formation proved to be the move that sparked Prestigio, as they went on to score 3 goals, and only conceding one in the last kick of the game. Farhan played up front and showed some lethal touches, and while he scored one, it was his near miss from a stunning volley that was the play of the game.
But goal of the game had to go to Fazli, when he bulldozed past the Holland Park defence, before unleashing a low outside foot shot that went into the low corner of the net.
Jazli had a nice stint playing for the first time as an outfield player at left wing, creating chances and making some good plays for Prestigio.
Rusydi saved Prestigio from conceding more goals, after making some vital blocks and interceptions when it seemed that Holland Park would have scored.
However, it proved too difficult a task to come back from a first half 5-1 deficit, but it was the second half spirit shown by Prestigio that can spur the team to a much better performance for the next game.
24/01/10 2nd Cup Group Stage Game
(Pasir Ris Sec)
Prestigio 0-2 Team Tsubasa
Starting Lineup: Jaz, Handri, Farhan, Sabri, Alfa, Sentosa, Pradeep, Hafiz Ahmad, Viera, Kecyk, Yan
Subs: Hafiz, Wak, Collin
Prestigio's hopes of qualifying for the knockout stages ended when they lost to Div 4 side Team Tsubasa. After almost upsetting the odds last season against Div 1 side Raven Utd, expectations were high when Prestigio was grouped into a relatively easy-looking group. All it needed was a good win to ensure qualification, but the win didn't materialised.
Prestigio will rue that they had to settle for a completely makeshift defence with the key absence of Rusydi, Jon and Zai. Farhan and Sabri had to move from their favoured positions to the centre of defence, with wak providing some cover.
It was clear in that match that Tsubasa were so energetic and spirited, while Prestigio almost played lifelessly. Only one neat combination play between Yan and Kecyk was the only wonderful sight to behold. it would have been one of Prestigio's best goals scored if Yan had converted the chance.
Prestigio was so worried about the defence that concentration and emphasis on attacking was lost, and many times Yan was a frustrated figure up front. Delivery was poor and even the usual flair and creativity from Alfa and Sentosa was absent, hence there was no rhythm to the play.
Pradeep was not as his usual too as he had to endure his hamstring pain and played the game with it.
It was indeed the worst performance of the season despite the previous game's heroics.
This weekend though, is the big game at Ahmad Ibrahim as Prestigio will go head to head with high flying Holland Park who has already won 4 out of 4 and conceded only one in the league. Time for a big rallying call.
It has come to the awareness of the team that commitment to the team has been a big problem.
Playing in a league where we have invested so much, we expect our players to be players who are committed to this team and not those who want to come only when they feel like it.
it is also not fair for those players who burn their time, effort and energy to come for matches and other players decide to give the game a miss without valid reasons.
Valid reasons for your absence can be accepted, but last minute pull outs causes problems for the team to find replacements. therefore, we appreciate that those who do not have valid reasons such as injuries or urgent matters, please come and attend the matches for the good of the team and also for the fairness of the other teamates.
Also, we will like everyone to once again confirm with our team manager Kecyk, on whether you want to or able to commit to this team fully, so that we can avoid this situation again in future. For those that no longer can commit or want to play at their own free will, please inform Kecyk too.
We hope everyone will understand that we all want the best for this team and we are serious on moving on with only our serious players.

Prestigio 5-3 Renaissance
Starting Lineup: Jaz, Farhan, Zai, Rusydi, Jon, Sentosa, Pradeep, Alfa, Zul, Kecyk
Subs: Wak
Scorers: Rusydi(2), Farhan, Alfa, Kecyk
Assists: Sentosa(2)

Prestigio put on their most lung-bursting and inspiring performance that was all down to pure teamwork and motivation. With many players announcing last minute absence, Prestigio started off the match with 9 men, shortly which Jaz came in and slotted into his goalkeeping position. Yet, being short in numbers, early exchanges and posession were much in favour of the tireless Prestigio, with Renaissance failing to hold on to posession long.
Despite the superiority, Prestigio went down to a header from a corner in which Jaz flopped his save and couldn't beat the ball out in time as it had already crossed the goal-line.
Despite being a goal-down, Prestigio still played on their own game and a goal looked so imminent, and when towering centre-back Rusydi makes those bursting runs into attack, you sense the intention and a goal was going to come. Indeed Prestigio got the goal after Rusydi received a delicate long ball from Sentosa, in which he later shrugged off his man before slotting into the bottome left corner of the goal.
Minutes later and Prestigio earned a penalty after Renaissance's defender handled the ball inside their box. Up steps Rusydi again to score his 4th goal of the season.
Renaissance FC started the second half much stronger and got their goal to level things up at 2-2.

Minutes later, Prestigio suffered another setback as left-back Jon injured his knee badly after attempting to turn the defender around. A loud crack could be heard and straight away he went down in agony.
With 9 men on the field, it looked more likely that Renaissance will dump Prestigio throughout. But a sweet freekick by Farhan ended right at the corner of the goal to give Prestigio a 3-2 lead. by this time Prestigio sensed that they can still win the game. Renaissance replied with another goal and it looked that it will be down to which team wants it more.
It turned out that Prestigio were more mentally strong and scored another 2 goals to kill off any chance of a Renaissance comeback. Alfa scored a stunning long range shot which caught the keeper motionless, and kecyk scored a fine placed header which was brilliantly supplied again by Sentosa.

Special mention had to go to the quartet of Farhan, Alfa, Sentosa and Pradeep, for their lung-bursting and united performance. Farhan was sensational at right back with both elements of attacking and defending at the show. Alfa ran riot on the Renaissance defence after being given the free role. Sentosa provided a great example to fellow players, in which he showed great passing range, speed and endurance playing with a heavily bruised thigh. Pradeep was ever present in all areas of the midfield, left-centre-right, and shutted down the opposition brilliantly.
The defence also deserves to be praised. Zai making countless of key clearance, headers and interceptions, rusydi who man-marked their star striker well and put on his best efforts to stop him, and Wak, who came during the second half and volunteered to play using Jon's boots, for providing an extra body and stability in the defence.

This was indeed Prestigio's most united and committed performance, and they have also closed the gap on league leaders New Eastroids following their 2-1 defeat to Holland Park, and also with a game in hand.
It was announced yesterday that Rusydi will be out for at least a month due to a twisted knee he suffered during the cup game against 1980s. the key player's absence will certainly impact Prestigio and other defenders will now have to step up their game.
Central Defenders Zai and Handri will have to be at their best for the next few games and will need to show some of the desperate defending they did last week in order to survive.
Rusydi joins long-time absentee Galito, who has yet to declare or set a date on his return to action following his lengthy layoff since last season.

Commitment Issue
Sunday, January 10, 2010 ( 7:22 PM )
Depleted 10-Man Prestigio Defeats Renaissance
( 6:36 PM )
10/01/10 6th League Game Results
(Compassvale Sec)

Rusydi Out For A Month
Wednesday, December 16, 2009 ( 1:07 AM )
It was announced yesterday that Rusydi will be out for at least a month due to a twisted knee he suffered during the cup game against 1980s. the key player's absence will certainly impact Prestigio and other defenders will now have to step up their game.
Central Defenders Zai and Handri will have to be at their best for the next few games and will need to show some of the desperate defending they did last week in order to survive.
Rusydi joins long-time absentee Galito, who has yet to declare or set a date on his return to action following his lengthy layoff since last season.
