PRESTIGIO FC
Prestigio was first established in early April 2008 by a group of football hooligans who have just ended their time and effort serving the nation. We decided to form up a football team as a mean of staying together through bonding. We started to test ourselves by organising friendly matches and started to recruit players. Unfortunately, some of our players had to leave the team due to work and family commitments. With 20 players currently, we have joined the D2D Sunday League for 5 seasons.
Having played in the league, we have tremendously improved and we have a good team spirit for glory. We will unite and fight, look to win every game, and always give our best on the field. So cheers to all players from Prestigio and other football lovers!

Prestigio 4-4 FC Tempastella
Scorers: Yan(3), Sadiq
Assists: Sadiq, Alfa

Things are turning out to be very similar every week for Prestigio. a second draw of the season for Prestigio puts them in a position ahead of Tempastella where they can slot into title contending position if they continue to produce results. With the first round of the remaining fixtures against Renaissance FC, Huat FC and Holland Park, these are games in which we must win in order to fight for the title.
With Prestigio starting with only 11 players, it was clear that they struggled throughout the first half, and conceded an early goal which was a foolish one, by not playing to the referee's whistle and failing to clear their lines. Tempastella is a team that can pass the ball very well and are always patient in their build up. we were left exposed many times in the first half as we failed to dictate any tempo and pressure them. By half time Prestigio were down by 2-0 and you can see the quiet mood in the camp.
But as usual, Prestigio displayed a tremendous second half performance. 2 minutes after kick off, a great delivery from Sadiq via a free kick found Yan who slotted a well cushioned header way off the reach of the keeper. despite the opponents getting one back, Prestigio's momentum didn't break, and they dominated throughout the game.
Sadiq made it 2-3 when he tapped in an open goal. he seems to be very comfortable playing at the advanced central midfield role and has been in good form this season in both creating and scoring, with 2 goals and 3 assists in 4 games. However we did not see the brothers combining today as Barak was absent.
A siege of Prestigio attacks came and Yan once again grabbed his second hat-trick of the season in only 4 games, after adding another two goals to give Prestigio a 4-3 lead towards the end. Yan is now Prestigio's headline maker, having been on the spotlight in every game with his tremendous goal-scoring ability. in a cheeky attempt to ease those chasing him to become top scorer, he wanted to award his 2 goals to manager Kecyk.
Notable mention had to go to Zai, for another outstanding performance against Tempastella. it seems that he relishes the challenge by Tempastella, and the opponents would certainly remember his outstanding goal-line save from last season's match. this time, Zai made an oustanding full stretched top corner save from a corner kick, and also a close ranged freekick. Man of the match would have his name on it had it not been for a fluke goal in which the ball bounced off his hand while diving. still, he is staking a strong claim for that first choice keeper slot.
however all that hard work defending were to be undone by a last minute equaliser which saw a through ball penetrating a tired defence. nevertheless, another strong performance and in a good position, we must now STOP DRAWING and start WINNING in order to challenge for the title.
New Eastroids 2-2 Prestigio
Scorers: Yan(2)
Assists: Drogba

Prestigio staged a brilliant comeback from being 2 goals down in the second half, to earn a more than deserved draw against the top table Eastroids.
Prestigio were cruelly given a penalty against them when Abang Yus was deemed to have handballed in the box. it was much more accidental rather than intentional, and the 12th minute penalty was enough to dampen the Prestigio camp. Sabri picked up a yellow card for allegedly elbowing his opponent. by then the referee was stealing all the limelight off the game. however despite being a goal down, Prestigio always looked the better side and controlled possession.
the first half saw plenty of sucessful flick ons by Yan, but there was no other player rushing for the anticipated feed. We should take note that this tactic would had been of great success if there was someone to pick the ball up from the flick.
the second half saw another decision by the referee that almost killed Prestigio's hopes. Eastroids added their second goal with what looked to be a clear offside from 2 of their players. the referee however apologised after the game that it was a mistake.
Nonetheless, sparked by the fury of conceding 2 controversial goals, Prestigio made their superior possession count as Drogba danced pass his man before delivering a teasing cross, met by a superb placed header from Yan to make it 2-1 in the 50th min. the Prestigio camp smelled an onslaught coming to the Eastroids, and in the 60th minute, Eastroids' nervousness and desperateness started to show as the midfielder was given a red card for a second bookable offence.
just seconds after that card was given, top striker yan scored another goal after a scramble in the box in which Eastroids failed to clear the danger. Yan has now brought his incredible tally to 6 goals in 3 games, and carrying on with 22 in 17 games added to last season. There was a huge roar from Prestigio's players and supporters after that goal which levelled things, showing just how much that goal meant to them.
from then on Prestigio gave wave after wave of attacks, and uncountable number of corner kicks.
at the back, prestigio were very stable with a newcomer Farhan impressing everyone with his no-nonsense and daring style approach to the game. it would be a great coup if he can continue playing for Prestigio.
Alfa managed to silence Eastroids' dangerman at the middle and the indian talisman looked frustrated throughout. Drogba made his first appearance of the new season and was always as menacing as ever, with his superb speed and strength, the full backs of Eastroids had a torrid time against him. Sentosa was ever energetic and played almost everywhere in the pitch, particularly in the later stages of the second half.
it was a draw in the end and Prestigio were happy to earn something from that game. Manager Kecyk informed the team that he was satisfied with the morale and performance shown after being down by 2 goals. "we managed to stop the from winning". that was definitely a good point to take from the game.

if according to this list of players that will play on sunday, we absolutely have every chance to get 3 points even against New Eastroids. they have won all of their 4 matches and we will look to try and stop that streak in tremendous fashion.
what Prestigio needs now is that every player commits to this team and to ensure their presence this sunday at Bedok Green. Lets get our winning ways going and we will definitely send signals to the division.
Prestigio 6-2 KB United
Scorers: Yan(3), Rusydi(pen), Sadiq, Hakim
Assists: Sadiq, Barak, Alfa, Jon

Prestigio went to top gear as they easily dispatched former div 1 side KB United in a fantastic display of football which virtually ended in the first half.
Prestigio came into this match needing a win to overcome last week undeserved defeat to 442 FC. with key players like Sentosa and long absentees Sabri and Azhar returning to the side, Prestigio had big strength in attacking and creative firepower. Prestigio went for a 3-5-2 formation which received criticism and also which failed in past games more notably against New Eastroids in a friendly. but the formation needed some time to work out through a congested KB defence.
Prestigio broke the deadlock through a close range freekick from Sadiq. Sadiq made it look very easy through a poorly assembled wall which left the goalkeeper exposed, as the speed of the ball proved too much for the keeper's hands.
Utility player Hakim showed that he can play anywhere in attack, having had stints in all areas of midfield, he started as a striker. he showed good strength to stay on his feet as he out-muscled his opponent to slot home Prestigio's second of the game.
Last season's top scorer Yan once again showed his capabilities of becoming the top striker in the league, bagging a hat-trick against a hapless KB defence who couldn't cope with his strength in the air, with the ball, positioning and timing of his runs. with two goals coming from a trademark outside foot curler of his, both goals coming from two great assists. one was a drilled through ball from Jon and the other was a floating ball from alfa which allowed Yan to outsprint the defenders.
Sadiq's brother Barak played his first match for Prestigio and was very impressive in midfield for Prestigio and provided an assist. with similar style of play to Sadiq, Prestigio dominated and controlled the centre of the park, with Barak providing an extra spark to Prestigio's plays.
Rusydi scored his 2nd goal of the season through the penalty spot. the high-scoring defender and first choice penalty taker was always going to slot the ball in the back of the net thanks to his long experience and composure of taking penalties.
At goal, Zai merely did not have much to do, but the moment of the match was definitely his incredible flying save which denied KB United's third which had goal written all over it. that save brought a huge roar from the Prestigio bench and clearly pleased manager Kecyk and owner Hafiz, who labelled the save as "a superb goalkeeping skill". he went on to stress on Prestigio's defence which still needed to buck up. though he was very pleased with the result. "it was a tremendous effort that the guys put in, well done."
Kecyk commented after the game that "in this kind of form and with the players at our disposal we would have no problems fighting the top teams."
and indeed it was a masterstroke tactic from Kecyk and a marvelous performance. what it demands now for Prestigio is definitely consistency.
